From Fiumicino Airport: you can take a direct train to Roma Termini station (Leonardo express, price 14 €, 30 min. ) or a slower train to Tiburtina station (price 8 €, 45 min.). Trains leave every half an hour. Timetable can be found here (put Roma (Tutte le stazioni) as final destination). Sapienza University is within walking distance from Roma Termini station.
From Ciampino Airport: several bus companies take you to Roma Termini station. Tickets can be booked in advance but it is more convenient to catch the first bus available and buy the ticket on board (price is around 5 €). Buses leave from the parking lot in front of the airport.
Public Transportation: if you are not staying near Sapienza University, since Termini station is the main hub for the public transportation of Rome, the simplest solution is to reach there and then walk to the site of the conference. A Route Planner could be useful.
